The shopping continues.

American Express frequently makes a survey to measure the trends with the most wealthy people in Europe. This survey shows new trends within the luxury sector.

It is obviously interesting to see the trends within the sector changing, but also that extremely few people within the group finds is necessary to change their consumption habits considering the financial crisis. Only six percent answered that they thought they would have to lower their consumption considerably.

The strongest trend is the ecological, especially when it comes to food but also within fashion and beauty. Another very strong trend is the unique trend. No matter if it is a holiday or a fashion item – it has to have a unique feel.

When looking closer at the fashion consumption, tailored clothes is topping the list of things these people want. After that comes designer clothes and eco fashion.

The survey was done with a representative European choice of American Express Centurion card members during March and April 2008.
